Yvonne Lou reports
Police have detonated shells and grenades found on a slope at Black's Link in Wong Nai Chung. The devices are believed to have been left over from World War II.

Police said they received a report on Saturday saying suspected explosives had been found near the Police Museum. Stuart Woods - the man who made the report - said he was out with his friends looking for historical artefacts with his metal detector. His detector went off and they dug up the devices nearby.

Woods said he thought they were left by the Japanese army after they invaded Hong Kong in December, 1941. He said they have made three or four similar discoveries in the neighborhood over the past few months.

The Police's bomb disposal unit destroyed the ordnance in two separate controlled explosions.
