The new political party to be formed by student leaders of the pro-democracy Occupy Movement has been named Demosisto.
The convenor of the now-defunct Scholarism, Joshua Wong, and Nathan Law, a former leader of the Federation of Students, will launch the party on Sunday. Other organisers of the party include Agnes Chow and Oscar Lai.
The group plans to contest in September's Legco elections and will push for a referendum to determine Hong Kong's fate after 2047, when the One Country, Two Systems principle is supposed to expire.
Scholarism announced the suspension of its operations last month to make way for the formation of a new student group and a political party.
