Legislator Pierre Chan, who represents the medical sector, said on Monday that the president of the Legislative Council, Andrew Leung, should stick to his decision to allow two Youngspiration lawmakers, Sixtus Leung and Yau Wai-ching, to retake their oaths.
He said if Andrew Leung changes his mind now, he would be setting a bad precedent.
Dr Chan told RTHK’s Janice Wong that more walkouts by pro-establishment lawmakers in the council to prevent the duo from retaking their oaths was better than seeing Andrew Leung changing his mind.
The government has launched a legal challenge against Andrew Leung's decision. The matter will be heard in the High Court on November 3.
