Observatory sees its highest ever temperature

The Observatory said on Tuesday it had recorded the highest temperature ever at its Tsim Sha Tsui headquarters, at 36.6 degrees Celsius.

The reading, taken at around 2pm, broke the previous record high of 36.3°C set on August 8, 2015.

Temperatures elsewhere in the city were even higher on Tuesday, with Sha Tin, Wong Tai Sin and Tseung Kwan O all seeing 37.9°C, Ta Kwu Ling 38.1°C and the Wetland Park a scorching 39°C.
