Jeremy Tam talks to RTHK's Janice Wong
Civic Party lawmaker Jeremy Tam has accused the Urban Renewal Authority of changing a redevelopment plan for Kwun Tong without consulting the public.

The HK$30 billion project is supposed to modernise Kwun Tong's rundown town centre.

Tam said some of the main attractions of the plan, such as an egg-shaped government office and a terraced-garden, are now gone. He said the public should be consulted on the changes.

Tam told RTHK’s Janice Wong that the URA should now withdraw the plan from the Town Planning Board, and consult the public about the amendments.

A non-official URA member, Judy Chan, said she will call on the board to consult the public about the changes.

But Chan admitted that she herself wasn't even consulted about the changes.
