The president of the Lingnan University Student Union said members will offer assistance to other universities if pro-independence banners recently put up, are forcefully removed.
Ryan Lee said his union was ready to protect the freedom of speech.
He also said the union plans to take some "action" on Tuesday at the launch of a year-long celebration of the institute's 50th anniversary.
Lee did not elaborate on what kind of action will be taken, saying only that the union is still discussing the matter. He said the union wants to show their determination in fighting for freedom of speech.
