Local giants Kitchee have been drawn against South Korea's Jeonbuk Motors in the group stage of next year's Asian Champions League. Jeonbuk are winners of the 2016 competition.
Kitchee qualified directly for the group stage by virtue of winning the Hong Kong Premier League.
Mainland side Tianjin Quanjian are one of four teams fighting for the two remaining spots in that group when qualifying starts in January. The others are Brisbane Roar, Muangthong United, and Cerezo Osaka.
Eastern, who represented Hong Kong in the group stage last season, will play their first qualifier against Thanh Hóa FC from Vietnam.
