An alliance of more than a dozen concern groups are planning a protest rally on Sunday against the new Lantau reclamation proposal unveiled by Chief Executive Carrie Lam in her Policy Address.
The groups criticised the project as being nothing but a white elephant.
One of the groups, the Land Justice Alliance, said even claims that the proposal will benefit construction workers don't stand up, because reclamation mainly involves heavy machinery and not many workers will be required.
Debbie Chan from the Save Lantau Alliance said she believes many people will join the protest on Sunday.
The march is due to start at 3:30pm from East Point Road in Causeway Bay and end in front of the government's headquarters at Tamar.
