Land task force to look at all options Listen
A government task force that will look at land supply says it would consider all suggestions including draining the Plover Cove reservoir to make way for housing. But its chairman, Stanley Wong, says the group will not just focus on one particular target. The task force was set up by the Chief Executive Carrie Lam. Its 30 members have been given 18 months to come up with priorities and organise a public consultation. Wong told Annemarie Evans there are reasons why major property developers haven't been included in the group.
Consumers urged to embrace sustainable fashion Listen
A green group has urged Hong Kong consumers to embrace sustainable fashion. Redress founder, Christina Dean, says while local businesses began working towards more eco-friendly production years ago, consumers have not yet caught up with the trend. Local business leaders will hold a fashion conference next month to explore the way forward for the industry. Edwin Keh, the CEO of the Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel, spoke to Cecil Wong.
UN Security Council asked to hold urgent meeting over North Korea Listen
Japan and the United States have requested an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council - after North Korea fired a missile over Japan. It crossed the island of Hokkaido before crashing into the sea on Tuesday morning. RTHK's Seoul correspondent, Frank Smith, tells Annemarie Evans that North Korea is trying to annoy not only Japan, but also South Korea and the United States as the two countries are conducting joint computer simulated war games.
