Securing access to new drug imperative  Listenfacebook
Carman Yau who is suffering from the degenerative disease Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) says it is imperative that the government secures access to a new drug, Nusinersen, to treat their condition. She says if it succeeds, it should also introduce a system and policy to provide sustainable support for treatment to those suffering from the disease. Yau says SMA is life-threatening and in the most severe case, one cannot move any part of the body or breathe on his own. She spoke to Annemarie Evans.
Former adviser on housing "perplexed" by Carrie Lam's comment  Listenfacebook
A former government adviser on housing has described as "perplexing" the Chief Executive's comment about setting a ceiling on public housing. Carrie Lam told a newspaper last week that when the stock of public rental flats hits 800,000, most units built afterwards will be subsidised flats that low-income families can buy. But Andy Kwan described this as unrealistic and said Lam needs to explain where she got the figure from. He told Janice Wong he'd never heard of such a target while serving on the Long Term Housing Strategy Steering Committee.
Conservationists demand development restrictions   Listenfacebook
Conservationists are calling on the government to set strict height and development restrictions for Bishop Hill and Government Hill in Central. They want the area to be protected from a proposed 25-storey hospital to be built in the area. Katty Law of the Central and Western Concern Group told Joanne Wong why they're against the redevelopment plan by the Anglican church -- or Sheng Kung Hui.
