Veteran trade unionist Lee Cheuk-yan says he hopes the government would really be determined to scrap the controversial MPF offsetting mechanism once and for all. But he said he hopes its abolition will not lead to other problems such as more dismissal of workers as well as job security and employment protection issues. Lee spoke to Annemarie Evans:

An academic says he has a lot of sympathy for the West Kowloon District Authority as it is facing serious financial problems and needs to bring in some money. Oscar Ho -- an Associate Professor of Practice in Cultural Management at the Chinese University -- said that is why the authority has decided to develop commercial elements at the arts hub. But he said it was difficult to say whether the plan will work out as there were what he called "loopholes" that could be abused:

The world's youngest Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai has met the Pakistani Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on her first trip back to her native country since being shot by Taliban militants. The prime minister said she is no longer an ordinary citizen, and her security is the government's responsibility. RTHK’s South Asia correspondent Murali Krishnan said it was an emotional return for Ms Yousafzai. He told Annemarie Evans that her engagements in Pakistan have been kept confidential because of security risks:
