Parents of special educational need children not being given enough assistance Listen
A concern group has warned that parents of children with special educational needs are not being given enough help, and their own needs are often neglected. The Special Educational Needs Rights Association said while there was a range of public services available to tackle children's emotional and learning requirements, there should be more resources for their parents or caregivers. It says NGOs should be given funding to organise classes, sharing sessions and support groups. Australia's most populous state, New South Wales, is now entirely in drought. Officials say a dry winter has intensified what has been called the worst drought in living memory in parts of eastern Australia. The state and federal governments are offering emergency relief funding to those affected.
