Pro-establishment lawmakers are calling for swift changes to Legco's rules to penalise unruly legislators, while the pan-democrats are promising to fight back. The fresh war of words was sparked by chaotic scenes at Legco on Wednesday, when the chief executive's question-time session was cancelled and Carrie Lam ended up not answering any questions. Lam was greeted by chants from the pan-democrats as she entered the Legco chamber. That was in protest at the barring of Land Justice League lawmaker Chu Hoi-dick from running in an upcoming rural election. AnneMarie Evans asked the chairman of Legco's committee on Rules of Procedure, Paul Tse if he felt that the behaviour of the pan-democrats was a bit of a gift to those wishing to change the rules
‘MTR probe falls way short of what’s needed’   Listenfacebook
The MTR Corporation on Wednesday said it plans to crack open at least 80 locations on the platforms of Hung Hom Station, to investigate allegations of sub-standard work. The construction scandal surrounding the Shatin-to-Central link was exposed by a subcontractor, who claimed thousands of steel bars had been cut short, affecting safety. Jim Gould asked legislator Michael Tien, a member of Legco's railways' subcommittee if he was happy with the scope of the probe
Animal lovers welcome Chanel’s decision to stop using exotic skins  Listenfacebook
Chanel has become the first luxury fashion house in the world to stop using exotic animal skins, like snake, crocodile, lizard and stingray. The company's head of fashion, Bruno Pavlovksy, said it had become harder to source such pelts ethically. He also included fur in the list, of which Chanel uses little. Annemarie Evans spoke to Ashley Fruno, PETA Asia's Director for Animal Assistance for PETA, and asked her about Chanel's decision
