More accolades are coming in for Chan Yuen-ting who made history last month by becoming the first woman in the world to lead a male professional football team to a top-flight title.
The 27-year-old Eastern manager claimed HK$10,000 from the Hong Kong Football Association for taking its Coach of the Year award after leading the club to their first title in 21 years.
Her goalkeeper Yapp Hung-fai won HK$30,000 and a free trip to Mongolia after being named Player of the Year.
Meanwhile, four teams will battle this weekend for a chance to represent Hong Kong in the upcoming regional competitions. South China and Southern District will kick off the first game of the season playoff on Saturday, while Kitchee face FA Cup winners Pegasus on Sunday.
Football writer Tobias Zuser said the season playoff will determine Hong Kong's representation in next season's AFC Cup or Asian Champions League.
