Police have arrested the man who allegedly threw hundred dollar bills from a building in Sham Shui Po on Saturday, after he returned to the neighbourhood on Sunday afternoon.
Known as "Coin Young Master" for his links to cryptocurrency, Wong Ching-kit has been detained for behaving in a disorderly manner in a public place.
This happened after he returned in his Lamborghini and was quickly surrounded by people. Officers then took Wong to a police van.
Detective chief inspector Kevin Chong said he believed Wong orchestrated the stunt on Saturday, which he said led to chaotic scenes and posed a threat to public safety and order.
Chong urged people, who had picked up the money, to hand it in to the police, or they could have committed theft. Police have so far seized 60 one hundred dollar banknotes
Earlier, a police spokeswoman had confirmed that police had received a complaint of a nuisance at the junction of Fuk Wing Street and Kwei Lin Street at around 3.40 pm on Sunday.
