Southern District scored a huge win in the Hong Kong Premier League to put pressure on the leaders R&F. James Ha netted a hat trick as Southern blasted Eastern 4-1 at Hong Kong Stadium on Sunday night.

Brazilian Everton Camargo opened scoring for Eastern but Southern stormed back with four unanswered goals. It was a humbling defeat for Eastern's new Latvian manager Andrejs Štolcers who replaced Chan Yuen-ting last week.

Southern's emphatic victory moved them ahead of Tai Po and up to second in the table. They trail R&F by just two points. On Saturday, Tai Po thumped Kitchee 3-0, with Sandro scoring twice against his former club.

Five points separate the top six teams in the Hong Kong Premier League, with seven rounds of fixtures remaining.

R&F top the table with 23 points. Southern and Tai Po each have 21 points. They're followed by Eastern, Kitchee, and Pegasus.
