Former executive councillor Henry Fan will become the new chairman of the Hospital Authority from December, replacing John Leong.
Fan was the managing director of Citic Pacific, and has previously taken up various public posts.
The HA’s chief executive, Tony Ko, said Fan’s experience would bring new impetus to help the authority overcome challenges and continue to enhance public healthcare services.
Fan is the brother of executive councillor Fanny Law.
The Hospital Authority, which was established in 1990, now manages 43 hospitals and institutions, 49 specialist out-patient clinics and 73 general out-patient clinics.
