The Health Secretary Sophia Chan says the government is working to track down anyone who had close contact with a woman found to have the Wuhan virus after arriving in Macau via Hong Kong. There are now five people known to have the infection in Macau.

The 58-year-old woman from Wuhan is one of three new confirmed cases in the former enclave on Sunday.

Macau officials said she had taken a ferry from Hong Kong around 9am on Thursday.

She felt ill on arrival and immediately went to the Kiang Wu Hospital and was found to have a fever.

She was then transferred to the Conde S Januário Hospital, where she tested negative for the new virus the same day. However she showed positive in a second test this morning.

The two other cases involved two female Wuhan residents, aged 39 and 21, who entered Macau on Wednesday and Thursday. They showed symptoms on Saturday and tested positive Sunday.
