Hong Kong stocks closed down on Thursday after a late sell-off as traders struggled to maintain early momentum despite hopes the Federal Reserve could be nearing the end of its interest rate hike campaign.
The Hang Seng Index fell 0.5 percent, or 113 points, to 21,958.
The Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.8 points to 3,285, while the Shenzhen Composite Index inched down 0.1 percent, or 1.1 points, to 2,172. (AFP)
