Hong Kong shares closed in negative territory on Friday, with traders taking a step back after a rally throughout January was brought to an end, with eyes now on a key US jobs report later in the day.
The Hang Seng Index sank 1.4 percent, or 297 points, to 21,660.
The Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.7 percent, or 22 points, to 3,263, while the Shenzhen Composite Index dipped 0.4 percent, or 9 points, to 2,163. (AFP)
