Hong Kong stocks opened sharply higher on Friday, driven by a rally in tech firms, with traders looking ahead to the release of US jobs data later in the day.
The Hang Seng Index surged 1.9 percent to 18,566.
The Shanghai Composite Index added 0.2 percent to 3,212, and the Shenzhen Composite Index on China's second exchange edged up 0.3 percent to 2,018. (AFP)
