Two women were killed in a horrific stabbing in a Diamond Hill mall on Friday, while a lone suspect has been arrested.
Chilling video apparently capturing the murder was posted online – showing a man stabbing a woman from the back multiple times, before he was pushed back by the victim’s female companion.
The video then showed the man continuing the attack, before turning knife on the woman who intervened.
Both women – aged 26 and 22 – were later declared dead in hospital.
Police – donning protective gear – subsequently arrested a 39-year-old suspect at the scene.
Officers said the attack occurred at 5pm on the third floor of the Plaza Hollywood mall.
A shopkeeper surnamed Wong, who was at the scene, told RTHK that many in the mall were screaming and running away when the attack happened.
"At first, we heard children screaming in the mall for quite some time. Some people were then running towards us. We headed over to the scene and saw the attacker standing still while two women laid in pools of blood," he said.
