Tourism projects too pessimistic, says expert  Listenfacebook
The Tourism Board is warning that the growth in visitor numbers will moderate this year after a record year in 2018. Sixty-five million tourists visited the city last year, but tourism officials say the China-US trade dispute and a strong Hong Kong dollar means they expect just a million more tourists this year. But Professor Brian King from Polytechnic University's School of Hotel and Tourism Management told Tom McAlinden they're probably being a bit too pessimistic:

Pro-democracy lawmakers say they're going to skip a reception at Beijing's Liaison Office on Tuesday, just like they missed Monday’s Legco luncheon with the Chief Executive, Carrie Lam. The pan-democrats' convenor, Claudia Mo, says both gatherings are pointless, and they have ‘no appetite’ to show up just to exchange pleasantries when there's so little common ground.
