Macau’s tourism sector has ‘limited scope for growth’  Listenfacebook
Veteran Macau journalist Joao Pinto says it's not clear how the territory can further develop its tourism sector, as laid out in the newly-unveiled Greater Bay Development plan. Mr Pinto, the Portuguese News and Program Controller of local broadcaster TDM, says while the plan points to Macau as one of the four "core engines" in the blueprint, the lack of diversity in its economy is a major drawback. Younger adults more depressed than their elders, study finds  Listenfacebook
A new survey suggests Hong Kong people are getting increasingly depressed, and young adults have it worse than older people. The Mental Health Association interviewed almost 1,800 people aged 18 or above in November, and said 6.7 percent suffer from serious symptoms of depression – up from 5.5 percent in its previous study in 2016. Stephen Sun, a lecturer of the School of Continuing and Professional Education at City University, conducted the survey. Ben Tse asked him why more people are suffering from depression:
US Coast Guard officer arrested for mass murder plot  Listenfacebook
A US Coast Guard officer has been arrested on suspicion of planning a terror attack. Police found a cache of weapons and ammunition at the home of Christopher Paul Hasson in the state of Maryland. The self-proclaimed white nationalist is said to have drawn up a list of targets including prominent Democratic politicians, and was reportedly inspired by the Norwegian mass murderer Anders Breivik.
