Child sex abuse awareness not enough  Listenfacebook
The Hong Kong Committee on Children’s Rights says the public’s awareness about child sex abuse is not high enough. Its chairwoman Priscilla Lui says there have been many cases involving children or even adults that were not reported early enough. She says even when they were reported, they were not handled properly. Lui says there’s a need for what she called a “powerful system” to be put in place to help the victims. She spoke to Annemarie Evans.

Third-hand smoke causes more harm to children  Listenfacebook
A Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School Jonathan Winickoff says third-hand smoke from tobacco users is causing more harm to children than to adults. He says the Hong Kong government should therefore take steps to discourage more people from smoking by doubling the tax on tobacco. Professor Winickoff also says the age at which young people could legally purchase tobacco products should be raised from 18 to 21. He tells Ben Tse this would be extremely effective in reducing teenage smoking.
Liu Yifei to play Mulan in an upcoming film  Listenfacebook
Disney has picked Chinese actress Liu Yifei to play Mulan in an upcoming film, following accusations against Hollywood of "whitewashing". The live-action adaptation of the 1998 animated movie will tell the tale of the famed Chinese heroine Hua Mulan. Several Hollywood films have faced criticism in recent months for featuring white actors in Asian roles. China analyst Mark O'Neill told Annemarie Evans about the character of Mulan.
Formula E Championship returns to Hong Kong  Listenfacebook
The Formula E Championship returns to the city this weekend with the season-opening Hong Kong e-Prix. The world's top drivers of electric cars will compete at the Central Harbourfront Circuit -- starting with qualifying on Friday. One race will be held on both Saturday and Sunday, making Hong Kong the first host of a double-header race in Asia. British driver Sam Bird, who competes for Virgin, spoke to Ben Tse.
