Number of HK smokers falls to a record low Listen
The Department of Health says new data suggests that the number of smokers in Hong Kong has fallen to a record low of 10-percent – down a half-percentage point from 2015. A government survey of 10-thousand households last year also found that smokers are also lighting up fewer cigarettes than they did in the past – an average of 12.4 per day, down from 13.1. But the head of the Tobacco Control Office, Jeff Lee, said the number of people who smoke electronic cigarettes have gone up.
