Shanghai on Thursday reported 4,651 new Covid infections, down 331 from the day before.

Of the new cases, 261 were symptomatic and 4,390 were asymptomatic.

There were also 13 Covid-related deaths.

Beijing saw 42 symptomatic cases and eight asymptomatic infections.

Across the country, the National Health Commission recorded a total of 5,038 local infections.
