Chief inspector Auyeung Tak says two men were arrested in the operation.
The police on Saturday said they have arrested two people and seized HK$39.8 million worth of drugs in Tin Shui Wai.

Chief inspector Auyeung Tak said officers acted on intelligence on Thursday, and raided a hotel room in Tin Shui Wai which he said served as a storeroom for a drug syndicate.

He said officers found 24 kilogrammes of suspected heroin and 27 kilogrammes of suspected methamphetamine in two large suitcases inside the room and on a man who had been in the room.

Two men aged 21 and 22 respectively, were arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking.

The chief inspector said the force will lay a holding charge against the pair, and the two are expected to appear before Fanling Court on Monday.

"The police investigation is still ongoing and we don't rule out further arrests related to this drug trafficking case," he said, adding that officers will also investigate where the drugs came from and how they were meant to be distributed.
