Health authorities on the mainland on Friday reported 354 new local coronavirus infections, a drop of 106 cases from the previous day.

Of the 80 symptomatic cases, 45 were from Shanghai, 22 from Beijing and there were seven from Tianjin.

Shanghai also accounted for most of the asymptomatic cases, having logged 219 such infections.

The financial hub also saw one more Covid-related death.
