The government announced on Friday that it will be sealing off the main parts of Victoria Park, where people gathered for the annual June 4 vigil before the pandemic hit.
"In view of the Police's observation that some people are using different channels to incite the participation of unauthorised assemblies in the Victoria Park...the LCSD would close part of the Victoria Park," said a spokesman for the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.
The planned closure will take effect from 11 pm on Friday until half past midnight on Sunday.
The LCSD said it would seal off areas including the football pitches, basketball courts, central lawn, fitness station, jogging lane and some entrances.
The June 4 vigil has been banned for the previous two years over pandemic restrictions.
Officials said they did not receive any applications for gatherings at the park.
