Two footballers and three staff members from the Hong Kong team participating in AFC Asian Cup qualifiers in India have come down with Covid-19.
Hong Kong is scheduled to play Afghanistan on Wednesday evening.
The Hong Kong Football Association (HKFA) said that when the delegation left Malaysia on June 3, all of the members had tested negative for the coronavirus.
But five of them were found to be positive when they were tested again in India on Monday, the association said, adding that they will self-isolate according to relevant anti-epidemic rules.
The rest of the team will continue to observe various anti-infection practices, including taking rapid tests regularly, and wearing masks whenever they are not playing, the HKFA said.
