The government on Monday announced a reshuffle of senior government officials, in anticipation of the new term of administration under John Lee.
The 14 officials will take up new roles in light of the incoming chief executive’s plan to restructure the administration.
Among them is incumbent Director of Broadcasting Patrick Li who will become permanent secretary for security from July 1.
Meanwhile, former acting director of broadcasting Gracie Foo – who’s currently Director of Administration and Development of the Department of Justice – will assume the post of permanent secretary for constitutional and mainland affairs on July 15 to replace Roy Tang, another ex-RTHK chief, who is retiring.
In a statement, Secretary for the Civil Service Patrick Nip said: "The appointees are seasoned Administrative Officers with proven leadership and management skills. I have every confidence that they will continue to serve the community with professionalism in their new posts."
Other officials will be appointed to new bureaus.
They include Vivian Lau, who will become permanent secretary for environment and ecology (food), Mable Chan who will take up the post of permanent secretary for transport and logistics, and Shirley Lam who will assume the post of permanent secretary for home and youth affairs.
