Macau said it will relax its pandemic restrictions from Saturday as its latest Covid-19 outbreak eases.
The gambling hub reported 18 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, taking the total number in the latest outbreak to 1,783.
Authorities in the SAR said from this weekend, non-essential commercial and industrial businesses can resume operation on a limited scale as long as they comply with anti-infection measures.
But daycare centres and shops located inside malls should remain closed while indoor renovation works will continue to be suspended.
Residents have also been told to stay home unless they have to go out for work, shopping or other emergency reasons.
Adults must wear KN95 masks or those of higher standards when going out and they must refrain from gathering.
Streets in Macau remain quiet as authorities continue to impose a so-called "static management" in the city aimed at reining in the outbreak.
