Macau's casinos reopened on a limited scale on Saturday, along with other non-essential commercial and industrial businesses, as the SAR eased its 12-day Covid shutdown.

The gambling hub reported five more coronavirus infections, bringing the tally in its current outbreak to 1,805.

Businesses allowed to reopen such as gaming venues have been told to follow stringent anti-epidemic measures, including thorough disinfection, staffing levels that are reduced by half, and avoiding mask-off activities.

However, a number of entertainment venues, such as cinemas, beauty parlours and karaoke bars, must remain closed.

Authorities have also reopened some fitness trails and bike lanes so that residents can leave their homes for a short stroll or to walk dogs, but jogging and cycling remain prohibited.

People must wear masks of KN95 standard or higher at all times outside their homes.
