CLP Power said on Wednesday it is offering HK$100 vouchers to northwestern New Territories residents affected by a power outage last month.

The blackout was caused by a cable bridge blaze on June 21, and the firm and the government are still probing the incident.

The company said it's spending HK$20 million on the vouchers, which will be available to people living in Yuen Long, Tin Shui Wai and Tuen Mun as a form of "care and gratitude for the understanding" of affected customers.

It said the vouchers are intended to boost economic activities there, and the utility plans to distribute the vouchers from September. It said more details will be announced in due course.

CLP added that it's engaged with officials in probing the incident and its follow up work, and it will make public the results of the investigation in a timely manner after its completion.
