Former justice minister Fu Zhenghua pleaded guilty to corruption and other crimes in his trial in Changchun on Thursday.

According to CCTV, the court heard that Fu accepted bribes worth 117 million yuan from 2005 to 2021.

The court was also told that he tried to cover up suspected crimes committed by his brother in 2014 and 2015.

A verdict will be handed down at a later date.

Fu had also served as vice minister of public security and head of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau, among other posts.
