MIRROR’s concert producer Francis Lam has on Monday released a statement on social media, apologising for last Thursday's accident which left two dancers hurt – one critically.
In the statement released four days after the dancers were hit by a falling large video screen, Lam said he’s cooperating with the police and authorities to find out what went wrong.
He stressed that he has never thought of shirking responsibility.
“The reason why I had not issued any statements previously was because the censure I faced was nothing compared to the pain suffered by the injured dancers,” he wrote.
Lam said he eventually decided to voice out on the matter because there had been a lot of speculation on the internet, and that he reserves the right to take legal action against those who had spread false information.
The producer described the incident as a “heavy blow” to both him and his team.
"I've been in this business for over 20 years. It was extremely painful to see such an accident happen at a concert I produced," he said.
Lam apologised to the dancer, his family, the audience, and others who had been affected.
