Beijing on Monday announced fresh military drills around Taiwan, one day after the scheduled end of exercises to protest against a visit to Taipei by US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi last week.
The PLA's Eastern Theater Command said it would conduct joint drills focusing on anti-submarine and sea assault operations.
The PLA held military exercises last week, including "precision missile strikes" in the Taiwan Strait. Beijing also announced countermeasures against the US and sanctions on Pelosi and her immediate family members. (Agencies)
