A dancer seriously hurt in an accident at a MIRROR concert last month has only made very minor progress in his recovery, his father said on Sunday.

Lee Kai-yin was struck by a giant video screen that fell onto the stage as the boyband were appearing at the Hong Kong Coliseum on July 28.

He suffered cervical vertebrae damage and underwent surgery at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, only waking from a coma several days later.

The dancer's father, pastor Lee Shing-lam, said there has only been minor improvement regarding the damage to his son's cervical nerves and he requires intensive treatment.

In a public letter, the pastor urged people to pray for his son. He also thanked people who had expressed support, as well as those who shared their own experiences of spinal injuries.

He added that the family are following the advice of the medical team regarding various forms of therapy.

Meanwhile, the dancer's girlfriend So Ching, a member of the Cantopop group COLLAR, said she misses spending time dancing with Lee Kai-yin.

On social media, So shared a short video clip of them practising together a year ago, saying she has no motivation without him around.

Another MIRROR dancer was also hit by the falling video screen but was released from hospital the day after the accident. Officials say a suspension cord holding up the screen snapped, apparently due to metal fatigue.
