China on Tuesday launched a new satellite into space.

According to Xinhua News Agency, the Chuangxin-16 satellite was launched by a Kuaizhou-1A rocket which blasted off from the Xichang Satellite Launch Centre.

The Chuangxin-16 will mainly be used for scientific experiments.
