A water pipe in Tsuen Wan burst on Tuesday afternoon, flooding part of Shing Mun Road and causing a sinkhole.

A minibus became trapped in the sinkhole on Sai Lau Kok Road, but nobody was injured.

Police said they were notified about the burst at around 1pm and an area of around 40 metres by 40 metres was affected.

Officers from the Water Supplies Department were deployed to repair the underground pipe.

Water supplies to blocks 1 and 2 of Ho Fai Garden were suspended.

The Transport Department said all lanes of Sai Lau Kok Road between Shing Mun Road and Wai Tsuen Road had been closed and some bus services were being diverted.
