The Security Bureau said one more Hongkonger returned to the SAR on Sunday after falling prey to a job scam in Southeast Asia.

A spokesman said the man returned from Thailand, with the assistance of the Chinese embassies in Thailand and Myanmar and other government departments.

He added that so far authorities have helped a total of 12 Hong Kong residents return to the territory.

Officials say victims are often held captive and are coerced into engaging in fraudulent activities after they are trafficked to Southeast Asian countries.
