The Civil Engineering and Development Department has confirmed that its director, Michael Fong, has tested positive for Covid-19.

In a statement published on Monday morning, they said Fong was undergoing isolation in accordance with the Centre for Health Protection's guidelines.

The department confirmed that Fong last went to work on Friday, but he had followed relevant disease prevention measures, including wearing a face mask and doing daily rapid tests before going to work. He did not travel recently, it added.

A spokesman said the CEDD will carry out thorough cleaning and disinfection operations at the office.
