Police on Monday said they seized seven vehicles and arrested eight people near Deep Water Bay during an operation to combat illegal road racing activities.
They include seven drivers and one passenger, aged between 25 and 53.
They were arrested on suspicion of illegal road racing, dangerous driving, crossing double white lines and unauthorised taking of vehicles.
All of them have been released on bail and are required to report back to the police in mid-October.
An acting chief inspector, Lin Wai-lap, said officers will investigate whether any syndicates were involved in organising illegal road racing activities.
