Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Algernon Yau says he's been "telling the good stories of Hong Kong" to people he meets during a trip to Cambodia.
In a Facebook post, Yau's bureau said the secretary paid a courtesy visit to China's ambassador to Phnom Penh, Wang Wentian, on Friday.
Yau also held meetings with the president of the Constitutional Council of Cambodia, Ek Sam Ol, as well as Hong Kong business representatives.
The bureau said that during the meetings, the secretary spoke of the latest developments in the SAR and also "told the good stories of Hong Kong" to local business people.
Yau said Hong Kong has a close trading relationship with Cambodia and despite the pandemic, bilateral trade grew eight percent last year to about US$1.2 billion.
He also said Hong Kong is an ideal place to do business under the One Country, Two Systems principle.
Yau is to head to Siem Reap to join a banquet for ministers attending the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) economic ministers' meeting.
