The Hond Kong stock market fell at the open on Monday, extending last week's steep losses, with traders bracing for another sharp interest rate hike by the Federal Reserve this week.

The Hang Seng Index fell 0.4 percent to 18,695.

The Shanghai Composite Index eased 0.1 percent to 3,122, while the Shenzhen Composite Index dipped 0.2 percent to 2,002. (AFP)
