The government said on Tuesday that this month's meeting between officials and lawmakers at the Legislative Council has been postponed because of Covid.
It would have been the third antechamber meeting at the legislature.
A spokesman for the government's administrative wing said the administration and Legco agreed to postpone the meeting out of prudence, noting the increase in Covid infections recorded earlier this month.
“The government will continue to monitor the pandemic trend to decide when to hold the next antechamber meeting,” the spokesman said.
The meetings were introduced by Chief Executive John Lee after he took office in July, which he said can improve governance as the two sides can communicate and cooperate better.
Officials and lawmakers have met twice in the antechamber, an area in Legco where only they are allowed to enter.
