The 67-year-old driver of a cement mixer truck died on Thursday after his vehicle fell from a bridge in Cheung Sha Wan.

A school bus ploughed into the truck, leaving the bus driver and three members of school staff onboard slightly injured.

No children were on the bus when the incident happened at around noon.

The truck was travelling along the Tsing Sha Highway when the male driver apparently lost control of the vehicle, which broke through the railing and plunged 18 metres off the flyover onto the intersection of Lin Cheung Road and Lai Po Road.

Police said they would look into the driver's physical condition, the mechanical performance of the vehicle, the speed it was travelling at when the incident occurred, and the actual situation on the road, among others.

They also urged witnesses to provide officers with information.

The truck driver died after being taken to Caritas Medical Centre.
