A section of a flyover under construction on Saturday collapsed onto the traffic below in Guangdong province, injuring one person.

The section in question - part of the Xijiang Bridge - is located between the cities of Zhongshan and Jiangmen.

Authorities said a worker at the scene was hurt, adding that the section that fell also hit a truck on a road below it, but the driver was unharmed.

Jiangmen police said they have closed off parts of the Zhongjiang Expressway bound for Zhongshan.
