The ruling Communist Party has wrapped up the seventh plenary session of its 19th Central Committee, setting the stage for the 20th party congress which is due to start on Sunday.
The four-day plenary session took place between October 9-12 in Beijing.
President Xi Jinping, who's also general secretary of the party, made a key speech at the session.
According to a communique, it was decided that the 20th party congress will open on October 16 in Beijing.
The plenary session also discussed and adopted a report to be made by the 19th Central Committee to the 20th congress; a work report of the 19th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection to the congress; and an amendment to the party's constitution.
The three documents will be submitted to the upcoming congress for deliberation. (Additional reporting by Xinhua)
